LATEST: ASHTON KUTCHER and JENNIFER GARNER's ex MICHAEL VARTAN are at odds over the truth about a reported practical joke that went wrong.

Kutcher has confirmed the ALIAS star was a victim of his MTV show PUNK'D but he refused to sign a release form, which would have enabled Kutcher to air the prank on his show.

This comes just a week after Vartan told US TV show ACCESS HOLLYWOOD he wasn't a victim on the show, despite reports he was caught on a plane as pieces fell off pre-flight.

Vartan said, "I was never Punk'd on an airplane, so I don't know where they got the story."

But Kutcher has branded his fellow actor a liar, insisting, "He just asked us not to run it (the footage)."
